LAST UPDATED: TUESDAY 25 MARCH

Folowing on from the Government announcement yesterday evening, we will be closing with immediate effect (this includes our GA handling service). Phone calls, emails and social media will still be monitored during this time.

If you have a booking between now and the 30th June, please assume this is now cancelled. We will be in touch with customers shortly to make alternative future arrangements. For those studying for ground exams, please do drop us any queries on topics you need help with and we will do our best to offer help remotely. We are actively investigating how we can support our students during this time.

The safety of our staff and customers is, and will always be, our top priority. We’d like to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks in what has been a difficult time for all.

We will be continuing to monitor government updates closely and will open again as soon as it is safe and practical to do so!

From all of the team at Flynqy Pilot Training, we wish our customers and their families all the best. Stay safe!

LAST UPDATED: SATURDAY 21 MARCH

Flynqy Pilot Training are regularly monitoring all Government and Public Health England updates and advice. For now, we have taken the decision to continue operating, but will be putting additional precautions and restrictions in place. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and team is of paramount importance, and we ask for your support and consideration during these unprecedented times.

General Advice

Firstly, may we ask any customer who is self-isolating or exhibiting any symptoms to notify us as soon as possible. During this time, last minute cancellation fees will not be incurred. However, if you are cancelling due to concerns over the coronavirus, we will ask that you do not make any further bookings for 14 days, as per government advice. For the lastest advice and information on symptoms please visit NHS Coronavirus Website.

Office and airplane cleaning regimes have been increased. Aircraft cockpits and headsets will be disinfected after each flight to maintain the best possible hygiene standards.

Antibacterial hand soap is available in the office and students are encouraged to use this frequently, and on arrival, and towels have been replaced with paper towels.

We will no longer be accepting cash payments in the office. All payments must be made either by card or through contacless methods (please note we are unable to accept American Express).

Flight Training and Solo Hire

We will continue to operate training flights and solo hire flights, with additional restrictions.

A 30-minute gap between each flight booking will now be introduced, to minimise contact between students and allow the operations team time to complete additional cleaning tasks. Customers will be contacted shortly to move or rearrange flights where required.

We politely ask all students to leave the premises promptly after each training flight, to aid with social-distancing.

Group briefings, events and flyouts have been postponed until further notice. We are currently investigating options for offering additional ground-school and examination preparation sessions remotely so that students can continue with their studies during this time.

Students and solo hire members are being asked to prepare for flights at home where possible, to minimise contact time in the office.

Flight Experiences

Flight experiences will continue to operate as usual, with additional restrictions.

Any flight experience voucher holders who are either unable to, or would prefer not to take their flight under the current circumstances, may notify us before the expiry date of their voucher. Free six month extensions will be applied to those voucher holders. This will be reviewed as we receive more updates.

We respectfully ask that only those participating in the flight experience attend the booking, and request that family and friends do not attend as spectators during this time.

Visiting Pilots

General Aviation visitors to Newquay will be required to PPR via phone until further notice. This will enable us to ensure staff are available to deal with your request and help us monitor customer numbers in the office, assist with Newquay ATC restrictions and provide up-to-date advice.

On booking, you will be given a slot time and we respectfully ask that you keep to this time as best as possible.

Please be advised that the Airport Terminal Coffee Shop is now closed. Tea and coffee will be available through Flynqy Pilot Training, and we will advise so that social distancing is maintained.

Fuel (AVGAS 100LL and JET A1) are both currently available.
