Civil Air Support (CAS) Presentation
Carl Beardmore, Volunteer Operations Manager for CAS South West & Wales and an active pilot in the region, is currently working to further develop the charity's capabilities across the South West, and this is where you come in!
We're incredibly pleased to announce our support of an exceptional aviation charity, Civil Air Support, in 2026.
Civil Air Support (CAS) is the largest charitable air support organisation in Europe, with around 150 members. Their primary objective is to provide voluntary air support to safeguard communities and the environment when no other air support is available. This includes a wide range of missions such as aerial searches, photo and survey flights, observation flights, and transport flights.
Flynqy Pilot Training has already proudly supported several CAS missions over the years. Do you remember the adorable Whiskers the seal, who featured on our social media at the start of the year? Well, Whiskers was transferred to the Channel Islands to continue his recovery with the help of the team and volunteers at Civil Air Support. As a GA handling service, we have also worked closely with CAS on other missions over the years, including the transportation of vital medical supplies to patients across Cornwall.
However, there is far more involved than simply flying the aircraft. CAS relies on a dedicated network of volunteers working behind the scenes, coordinating transport, observing on flights, providing logistics, fundraising, and analysing flight data.
Carl Beardmore, Volunteer Operations Manager for CAS South West & Wales and an active pilot in the region, is currently working to further develop the charity's capabilities across the South West, and this is where you come in. Carl is looking to recruit pilots, observers, support crew, and fundraising team members over the coming months.
If you would like to find out more and potentially get involved, Carl will be hosting a presentation afternoon at Cornwall Airport Newquay on Saturday 24th January at 1400. The session will provide more insight into the work of Civil Air Support and offer the opportunity to ask questions about how you can play a part. This is a fantastic way to use your skills and love of aviation to give something back to the local community.
If you would like to attend please book your space below, or you can find out more about this wonderful charity and their work by visiting their website. We look forward to seeing you there!
