Flight Experience Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find the answer to your query in our Frequently Asked Questions below, then please do contact our operations team on 01637 861744, or send us a message via our online contact form, and we'd be happy to help.

We recommend that in order to get the most out of a Trial Flight Experience the voucher holder is no younger than 8 years of age. This allows them to reach a majority of the controls and really enjoy the 'hands-on' aspect of the experience. There is no upper age limit to take a Trial Flight Experience, as long as the voucher holder is physically able to get in and out of the aircraft. If you have any concerns please do ring our operations team on 01637 861744 and they will be happy to help!

We can take passengers as young as 4 on the Trial Flight Experiences when accompanied by an adult. If you are looking to bring young children on the experience then we recommend discussing your requirements with us before booking.

The prices quoted on our website are for the whole experience! For example, if you purchase a flight in one of our four seat aircraft then the price allows the voucher holder and up to two additional passengers to take part in the experience.

Flight experience gift vouchers can be purchased via our website using our online shop, by calling us directly on 01637 861744 or by popping into our offices at Cornwall Airport Newquay. Please allow 3-5 working days for your gift voucher to arrive.

If you require a gift voucher sooner then please do give us a call and we can arrange for a temporary voucher to be emailed for you to print!

Flight Experience gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry dates are printed on each individual voucher.

You can redeem your gift voucher and book your trial flight experience by calling our operations team on 01637 861744, or by emailing us at fly@flynqy.co.uk. Simply let us know your preferred date, time and flight number and we can check availability for you! Please do have your voucher to hand when you contact us as we will need to take these details from you to complete your booking.

If you are restricted to specific dates and times in order to take your flight experience, then please do give us as much notice as possible to allow us to accomodate your requirements. Equally, if you see a nice day it is always worth giving us a call to check availabilty as we might be able to fit you in!

Flynqy Pilot Training is open seven days a week from 09:00am (excluding certain dates over Christmas and New Year) and the flight can be booked at any time throughout the year, subject to availability. Certain flights, such as our Land Away Flight Experiences, do have restrictions at weekends so please do call us for details.

We recommend that you ring us at least one hour before your flight, or just before you plan to leave to get to the Airport, in order to check the weather conditions on the day. Don't worry if the weather is not suitable for your flight to take place, we will re-schedule for another date and time that is convenient for you.

Absolutely! You are welcome to bring along a camera or mobile phone in order to record your flight. All we ask is that mobile phones are in flight mode before you go on your experience.

If you have a voucher for our two or three seat aircraft then you are more than welcome to upgrade to a larger aircraft. Our largest aircraft is the four seat Piper PA28, allowing for the instructor, voucher holder and up to two additional passengers to go (weight restrictions apply). If you would like to upgrade then we do recommend booking in advance, as on-the-day upgrades are subject to availability. Our operations team will be able to advise you of the exact cost of upgrading when you book your flight, but it could be as little as £15 to take an extra person with you!

Of course! Extensions to your trial flight voucher can be purchased on request. If you require a bespoke flight, please contact us to discuss your requirements. If you would like to fly for longer, then we recommend upgrading your flight when making your booking, as on-the-day upgrades are subject to availability.

Please contact us to discuss any concerns you may have and we will always do our best to accommodate any special requests. Generally speaking, if you are physically able to get in and out of the aircraft, and your G.P. is happy for you to fly, then there shouldn't be an issue.

We are exceptionally lucky here at Newquay Airport to have uncontrolled skies above us. Any direction is possible, so whether it’s seeing your family home or checking out the stunning coastline, we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Distances flown depend on the length of flight experience you have booked. The chart gives you a rough idea of where you could fly to (and back) in each flight duration. If there is anywhere specific you would like to see then please do contact us and we can advise you on the most appropriate experience.

No! Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in - all of our aircraft have heating so there is no need to wrap up warmly for your flight. However, we do recommend that you don't wear open toed shoes or high-heels for the experience as this can make getting into and out of the aircraft quite difficult.
